Mitsubishi’s history of manufacturing began with the three curved diamonds of the Mitsubishi logo, which were originally inspired by Iwasaki’s family crest – the term “Mitsubishi” has long been used to denote diamond shapes in Japanese. This logo has embodied the principles of the world-renowned vehicle manufacturer since its inception.
1950’s
Manufacturing under the Mitsubishi name began in 1917 with the Mitsubishi Model A, the first series-production passenger car made in Japan (22 were built).
Over the past 10 – 20 years, everything has gotten better, and technology has gotten more advanced. For people to understand where history came from and how things are now, we need to put everything into a book with memories!
The fact that the brand continues to grow every year and looks like it did 100 years ago is an impressive achievement.
100 years ago, a vehicle wheel looked like a bicycle, but now it is different. That is one simple example of how the new generation is almost too good to be true.
The radio was once just an optional feature on your old refrigerator, but now it’s available on all models. History has a lot of things to offer, but one thing I especially love is that it has made me feel nostalgic.
The best thing about history is that the more you know about the past, the better prepared you will be for the future.
Thankfully, the people and environment around us have made life easier as time passes, so we have become more and more comfortable.
If you are looking for a change, feel free to visit our dealership for assistance with any Mitsubishi.
We would love to make you part of our future even if you still have the past.

Derived from the Japanese terms “Mitsu” and “Hishi”, the two were put together for the manufacturer’s name today. “Mitsu” means three and “Hishi” means water chestnut. When you say “Hishi”, it is pronounced “Bishi”, hence “Mitsubishi”. Mitsubishi vehicles carry a lot of history, and we are proud to have the Mitsubishi Pajero LWB as a part of that history. This legend comes a long way with its first arrival in South Africa in 1983, and it is now the Limited edition with only 100 units available in the country.
