The Importance of Regular Oil Changes for Your Mitsubishi

December 5, 2023 By Rokkit

genuine-mitsubishi-lubricants
(Genuine Mitsubishi lubricants)

Regular oil changes are the cornerstone of maintaining your Mitsubishi vehicle and ensuring its longevity. Just like our bodies require constant nourishment to function optimally, your Mitsubishi’s engine relies on fresh oil to keep its moving parts running smoothly and efficiently.

At CMH Mitsubishi Midrand, we understand the importance of oil changes and are committed to providing comprehensive maintenance services to keep your Mitsubishi in top condition.

Why Oil Changes Are Important

  • Lubrication: Engine oil lubricates the moving engine parts, reducing friction and preventing wear and tear.
  • Heat Regulation: Oil helps regulate the engine’s temperature by depleting the heat generated during operation.
  • Improved Fuel Efficiency: Fresh and clean oil reduces friction within the engine, which can contribute to improved fuel efficiency.
  • Engine Cleanliness: Oil helps keep the engine clean by preventing the buildup of dirt and deposits.
  • Extended Engine Life: Proper lubrication and maintenance contribute to the overall longevity of the engine and help prevent premature engine wear.
  • Optimal Performance: A well-lubricated engine performs well, reducing the risk of breakdowns and improving the vehicle’s overall performance.
  • Manufacturer’s Warranty: Adhering to the recommended oil change intervals outlined in the manual is often a requirement to maintain the manufacturer’s warranty.

How Often Should You Get an Oil Change?

The frequency of oil changes depends on several factors, including the make and model of your vehicle, your driving habits, and the type of oil you use. However, a good rule of thumb is to get an oil change every 15,000 kilometres or as specified in your service manual.

What Happens During an Oil Change?

During an oil change, technicians drain the old oil from the engine and replace it with new oil. They also replace the oil filter to remove any contaminants that may have accumulated in the old oil.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Oil Change

  • Use the recommended type of oil: Consult your owner’s manual to determine oil recommendations for your vehicle.
  • Get your oil changed at a reputable shop: Choose a shop that uses high-quality oil, filters, and experienced mechanics.
  • Keep your oil change records: Keep track of the date and mileage of each oil change so you can stay on schedule.

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2.4 DI-D 4×4

August 3, 2021 By Rokkit

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Front
Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Right

The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport opens a world of new possibilities – take this ultimate 4×4 vehicle out on an adventure and enjoy a performance that will make your driving through the most challenging conditions a pure joy. Rated as 2021 Best Buy & Large SUV/Cross Over. The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport allows engagement and conquering any Terrain with the all-purpose package and super select 4WD II System providing ultimate control, outstanding capabilities, and unrivalled performance through uncharted locations.

Full Dashboard
Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Interior

The Pajero has very unassuming styling almost to the point of being bland as such it blends in seamlessly with its 7-seater brethren. There are a few standouts such as the chrome grille, LED lighting front, rear, and stylish 18” wheels that give it 218 mm of ground clearance but overall, there is nothing very special on the outside. This is most likely why consumers tend to head towards the more well-known brands. Although it has the dimensions of a large seven-seater SUV, it behaves more like a sport sedan. The steering is on point, easy in tight parking lots but firming up when you hit the highway thus ensuring a direct feel. The power delivery is the most impressive, it’s linear with the gear ratios, this ensures the engine never sounds like it’s over-revving, even when you are towing 2.7 ton’s unbraked or 750kg braked, 2.4 litres in-line four, turbo diesel engine, pumping out 133kW and 430Nm. That power is sent through an 8-speed auto transmission and the Super Select II AWD system. As far as technology is concerned there is a 7” touchscreen infotainment featuring Apple Car Play and Android Auto controlled by a multi-function steering wheel that is height and reach adjustable as well as the standard Bluetooth and voice control for telephony.

Interior space is cavernous with legroom and space for five adults as well as their entire luggage with the third row down. Put the third row up and your luggage space decreases to 131l and it must be said that the third-row seating is only usable by children or persons of smaller stature. You get seven airbags, dual front, side, head, and knee, as well as a reverse camera. There is also park distance control and ISOfix where it counts. The Pajero Sport scored five stars in the ANCAP testing with high scores for adult and child crash protection. The Pajero returned consumption figures that were very close to the claimed 8.1l /100km, with combined driving, we got 8.9l /100km.

A 4×2 can cost you around R624 900 whereas a 4×4 will cost you R704 995, with that you get a 3-year /100 000km warranty, and a 5-year / 90 000km service plan.
