Why getting your car serviced is so important

September 25, 2019 By Rokkit

Why Regular Car Services on your car can make the difference between it running smoothly, fuel efficiency, and the risk of it breaking down as well as incurring an expensive and unexpected repair.

Why Regular Car Services

The Mitsubishi Service Department will also perform checks on other parts of the vehicle, if these parts need changing, they will communicate this with you in advance. This is to ensure you are aware of what additional work is required and whether any further costs may be incurred. Here are some of the reasons why servicing your vehicle is important:

Maintains the value of your vehicle

The difference between a neglected vehicle and a well maintained one is quite noticeable. In future, should you decide to trade in your vehicle, the way it has been taken care of will be taken into consideration. If it is well taken care of it will carry a high market value and you will get a better trade in value.

Why Regular Car Services

Boosts your safety

One of the primary reasons for servicing is to ensure that it is safe for driving. Changing oil is vital and when that is being done, a routine check is performed to make sure there are no underlying issues.

Your running costs are lower

Experienced owners know that diagnosing and rectifying problems on time can save you time and money, not to mention stress. Regularly servicing your vehicle means you won’t be running it down. Not changing tyres, driving a vehicle low on fuel or not changing oil will increase costs on maintaining your vehicle over time.

The Mitsubishi Service department hosts a group of experienced Technicians, an award-winning Service Manager and professional Service advisors waiting to help you keep your Mitsubishi Genuine and running for longer.

Mitsubishi’s Rich Heritage Of Manufacturing, CMH Mitsubishi Menlyn will be taking you back in time and sharing some memories

The history of Mitsubishi’s Rich Heritage Of Manufacturing started with The three diamond of the Mitsubishi logo and were originally inspired by Iwasaki’s family crest – the word ‘Mitsubishi’ has long been used to donate a diamond shape in Japanese. Since its inception, the logo has continued to embody the principles of the world-renowned vehicle manufacturer.

Mitsubishi’s Rich Heritage Of Manufacturing

1950’s

Car manufacture under the Mitsubishi name goes back to 1917 with the Mitsubishi Model A, the first series-production passenger car to be made in Japan (22 were produced).

Mitsubishi’s Rich Heritage Of Manufacturing

1960’s

The launch of the Mitsubishi 500 in 1960 marked the company’s entry into the small passenger car market. Envisioning the future of the automobile industry, the company started its journey in the 1960s with the Colt series, including the Colt 1000 and the Colt 800.

1970’s

During the 1980s, the company became a driving force behind the boom in recreational vehicles with the sedan-flavor Pajero full-feature 4WD. With a view to the growing market, the company introduced a number of advanced 4WD-based models, including the three-row Chariot, a pioneer of the minivan segment, and the Galant full-time 4WD sedan.

Mitsubishi – A Brief History

November 13, 2014 By Rokkit

Mitsubishi History

Mitsubishi Founder - Mitsubishi History
Mitsubishi founder Yatarō Iwasaki

The Mitsubishi company was established as a shipping firm by Yatarō Iwasaki in 1870. The name itself consists of two parts, “Mitsu” meaning ‘three’ and “bishi” meaning ‘water chestnut’, and hence the three shapes reflected in the Mitsubishi logo. It is also often translated as ‘three diamonds’. In the early days Mitsubishi had diverse but related business interests and entered into coal-mining to gain the coal needed for ships, bought a shipbuilding yard from the government to repair the ships it used, founded an iron mill to supply iron to the shipbuilding yard and started a marine insurance business to cater for its shipping business.

Japans Largest

Mitsubishi History
Mitsubishi A6M ‘Zero’ Fighter

Mitsubishi is one of Japans largest companies and even throughout the world:

  1. Mitsubishi Bank (now a part of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group) was founded in 1919. After its mergers with the Bank of Tokyo in 1996, and UFJ Holdings in 2004, this became Japan’s largest bank
  2. Mitsubishi Corporation, founded in 1950, Japan’s largest general trading company
  3. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which includes these industrial companies:
    • Mitsubishi Motors, the sixth-largest Japan-based auto manufacturer
    • Mitsubishi Atomic Industry, a nuclear power company
    • Mitsubishi Chemical, the largest Japan-based chemicals company
    • Mitsubishi Power Systems, a power generation division
    • Nikon Corporation, specializing in optics and imaging
Other business interests include glass, brewing, paper milling, logistics, salmon farming and aviation.

Mitsubishi Motors

mitsubishi-model-a
1917 Mitsubishi Model A

Mitsubishi’s automotive origins date back to 1917, when the Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co. introduced the Mitsubishi Model A, Japan’s first series-production automobile. An entirely hand-built seven-seater sedan based on the Fiat Tipo 3, it proved expensive compared to its American and European mass-produced rivals, and was discontinued in 1921 after only 22 had been built. Mitsubishi Motors went public in 1988, ending its status as the only one of Japan’s eleven auto manufacturers to be privately held. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries agreed to reduce its share to 25 percent, retaining its position as largest single stockholder.

Dakar Rally

2008 Mitsubishi Racing Lancer

Mitsubishi is also the most successful manufacturer in the history of the Dakar Rally, one of the most challenging and dangerous motorsport events in the world. Mitsubishi’s maiden entry was in 1983 with their new Pajero, and it took only three attempts to find a winning formula. Since then, they have won in 1992, 1993, 1997, 1998, and between 2001 and 2007, an unprecedented seven consecutive victories and twelfth overall with nine different drivers. Today Mitsubishi Motors manufactures a diverse range of cars from the recently introduced super-mini Mirage to the legendary Pajero 4×4.
