CMH Mitsubishi Menlyn would like to thank all our customers for their valued support throughout 2019. We also want to thank our families for being supportive and understanding off the long hours we dedicate at the office, away from quality family time. Thanks to all our staff for all their dedication and hard work. Together we made it through a exciting yet tough year.
Through the year we had a few staff changes, and welcomed the following new members to our Mitsubishi Menlyn New vehicle sales team, Andrew Solomon and Clement Mashiloane.
The launch of the Mitsubishi Triton in March 2019 at CMH Mitsubishi Menlyn brought along a lot of fun and excitement for both our staff and our Mitsubishi enthusiasts. The Triton combines a powerful 2.4L MIVEC Turbo Diesel Engine with an all-new 6-speed Automatic Transmission with intelligent Shift Control, delivering the optimum balance of engine power, fuel economy and interior quietness with smooth acceleration at low engine revolutions.
The launch of the all New Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross in April 2019 brought along a lot of excitement for the CMH Mitsubishi Menlyn team. The Eclipse is a stylish SUV with just enough off-road capability and interior space. The ride and drive feel well sorted, giving you a sense of solid build quality and reliability.
Thus bring us to the end of this era, and making way for the New Year with a team ready with “Drive and Ambition”.
Mitsubishi Menlyn would like to thank everyone again, we are grateful and value everyone’s contributions in making us a success. May 2020 be a good year for all.

AIR-CON MAINTENANCE
CMH Mitsubishi Menlyn assisting you to keep your car’s air-con in tip-top working order…
Mitsubishi Menlyn Assisting You to keep your car’s air-con working – Now day’s air-conditioning is standard on practically all vehicles and, on a hot summer’s day, it is one of life’s great pleasures to feel a welcome breeze of ice-cold air from the vents. How an air-con works
Indicated in the image below, an air-con operates in a closed system with a refrigerant as the working fluid. This means that the incoming hot air never actually touches the refrigerant, but is cooled indirectly by an evaporator/radiator in the airstream. Basically, the compressor is powered by the engine’s auxiliary belt and compresses the refrigerant gas that now heats up above atmospheric temperatures. The hot, compressed refrigerant is then passed through the condenser, where the excess heat is expelled and the gas condenses and passes through the fluid container. The liquid refrigerant then evaporates through the expansion valve, cooling the gas dramatically and passing through the evaporator in the climate-control system’s airstream, cooling the incoming air. The refrigerant now continues back to the compressor, where the whole process starts again. What could go wrong…
Your car’s air-con should provide ice-cold relief within five minutes and it is best to evaluate the the air blowing from the vents using the back of your hand. If the air is not cold by then, immediately switch off the sir-con and get the system inspected. There are many things that can go wrong with the air-con system, including gas leaks and failure of bearings and seals, as well as blockages in the pipes or sensor failures. You can take some comfort with the fact that the last component to fail is likely to be the expensive compressor itself. A lack of lubrication is the main reason an air-con compressor fails, when the gas leaks out, so does the oil and thus lubrication qualities are lost, leading to failure.Vehicle air-con care…
To prevent expensive breakdowns, it is important to run your vehicle’s air-con for at least 30 minutes a week. This action lubricates the system and prevents the bearings on the compressor from corroding at the touching surfaces. To avoid air-con odours, change the pollen filter regularly, because fungus that grows on the evaporator can cause bad smells. You should also service the air-con once a year, now that the summer temperatures are settling in and it’s getting hotter. Book your Mazda in for a air-con treatment and service at CMH Mazda Menlyn service department to prevent compressor replacement.Proper air-con operation…
When a vehicle is parked in the sun, the cabin air is usually hotter than the ambient temperature. First open all windows and switch fan speed to maximum to expel the hot air. Then close the windows and allow the air-con to do its job. When the cabin air is cooler than the ambient temperature, the process can sped up by employing the recirculation function to recycle the cabin air until the cockpit is at the desired temperature.CMH Mitsubishi Menlyn Contact details: 0123699800 Leadmaster52@cmh.co.za https://www.cmhmitsubishi.co.za/menlyn/

Why getting your car serviced is so important
Why Regular Car Services on your car can make the difference between it running smoothly, fuel efficiency, and the risk of it breaking down as well as incurring an expensive and unexpected repair.
The Mitsubishi Service Department will also perform checks on other parts of the vehicle, if these parts need changing, they will communicate this with you in advance. This is to ensure you are aware of what additional work is required and whether any further costs may be incurred. Here are some of the reasons why servicing your vehicle is important:
Maintains the value of your vehicle
The difference between a neglected vehicle and a well maintained one is quite noticeable. In future, should you decide to trade in your vehicle, the way it has been taken care of will be taken into consideration. If it is well taken care of it will carry a high market value and you will get a better trade in value.
Boosts your safety
One of the primary reasons for servicing is to ensure that it is safe for driving. Changing oil is vital and when that is being done, a routine check is performed to make sure there are no underlying issues.

Mitsubishi’s Heritage
Mitsubishi’s Rich Heritage Of Manufacturing, CMH Mitsubishi Menlyn will be taking you back in time and sharing some memories
The history of Mitsubishi’s Rich Heritage Of Manufacturing started with The three diamond of the Mitsubishi logo and were originally inspired by Iwasaki’s family crest – the word ‘Mitsubishi’ has long been used to donate a diamond shape in Japanese. Since its inception, the logo has continued to embody the principles of the world-renowned vehicle manufacturer.1950’s
Car manufacture under the Mitsubishi name goes back to 1917 with the Mitsubishi Model A, the first series-production passenger car to be made in Japan (22 were produced).
1960’s
The launch of the Mitsubishi 500 in 1960 marked the company’s entry into the small passenger car market. Envisioning the future of the automobile industry, the company started its journey in the 1960s with the Colt series, including the Colt 1000 and the Colt 800.
1970’s
During the 1980s, the company became a driving force behind the boom in recreational vehicles with the sedan-flavor Pajero full-feature 4WD. With a view to the growing market, the company introduced a number of advanced 4WD-based models, including the three-row Chariot, a pioneer of the minivan segment, and the Galant full-time 4WD sedan.
1990’s
During the 1990s, the company launched several distinctive models meeting ever-diversifying customer needs. The company also built up a glowing track record in the Dakar Rally, WRC and other events in the world of motorsport.
2000’s
The noughties saw the company adding to its SUV lineup with the launch of its first crossover SUV the Airtrek (Outlander). With a view to the future, the company also took up the challenge of electrification and in 2009 introduced the iMiEV, the world’s first mass-produced next-generation electric vehicle and the crystallization of many years of EV development at the company. The company was also honing its 4WD technology with the launch of the Lancer Evolution X which used the advanced S-AWC integrated vehicle behaviour control system.

CMH Mitsubishi Westrand- Tips To Look After Your Beloved Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi has The Top 5 Tips to ensure that your vehicle is in top shape on the road and that you have a smooth journey between vehicle services.
There many things in our daily lives that take precedent over having to look for the ping on your on-board computer or having it looking like a Christmas tree (multiple check and component failure signals) before you book your vehicle in for service.
Don’t let the Christmas tree show up on your dash and get your heart rate to borderline ER levels, take a deep breath and let us help you make the right decisions from the onset.
1. Brake Fluid levels
An essential and probably one of the most important safety aspects for any vehicle is stopping power. The braking system is an integral part of the vehicle’s mobility controls and what can keep you out of harm’s way on the busy South African Roads.
The level of brake fluid in the reservoir is usually a good indication of the life or quality of your breaks. For example: half-full reservoir-50% life span in brakes.
2. Oil levels
We are all guilty of ignoring the petrol attendant when asked about oil levels and with good reason, the best time to check your dipstick is before you switch the vehicle on. The reason for this is that the engine components utilise oil to run effectively so your oil reading will be lower with the warm engine, as opposed to a cold engine.
3. Coolant levels
An important part of your engine’s system which aids in the cooling process of a running motor. Always check the coolant reservoir when that toasty looking icon switches (it means your engine is quarter to toast). Head gasket damage is imminent and that can run into thousands of rands for engineering/skimming or OEM replacement parts.
4. Service books and Spare key
Before and after servicing it is always a good idea to double check the dates for your next booking, the best way to keep track is to leave the books in your car.
In case of a vehicle breakdown the service book notifies the closest service workshop of the last item in your history which is usually a good place to start when tracing the source of the flaw.
All information captured can also be revisited when looking to trade in your vehicle to buy your upgraded Mitsubishi from CMH Mitsubishi Westrand. Full-service history is part of the sales process when using your current vehicle as equity for your next Eclipse, Triton or Pajero sport as an example. It’s important to stay on track with The Top 5 Tips Mitsubishi provides
5. Tyres- Quality and lifespan
In order to get from one place to another the quality of tyres always gives you a sense of assurance at a glance. As when you all went to test for driver’s licence there is a process called a vehicle inspection. This means checking the tyre pressure by feel, observing the side walls for cracks, bubbles and tears.
Look for the proverbial “tamatie/ tomato”, these are the smooth patches or bald spots on the tyre’s circumference where tyre treads are worn out.
A quick vehicle inspection is good practice before you move your vehicle. As in K53, walk around your vehicle give each tyre a good toe punt (we suggest wearing closed shoes, barefoot is not so lekker, for the sake of your big toe).
This also works as a backup to check that all your goods are still in your vehicle with mall/parking lot crime and vandalism.
Book your vehicle for up to 10% discount on maintenance service parts & receive a free 28-point vehicle health check with CMH Mitsubishi Westrand. Valid until 30 November 2019
