As we approach the festive season a lot of us will need to service our vehicles because we will driving them to our holiday destinations and back. So we at CMH Mitsubishi The Glen have compiled a holiday checklist that we are more than happy to do for you in our Service Department.
Service
Nothing ruins a holiday like a breakdown, so it’s important to make sure that your vehicle is inspected prior to departure by our highly qualified Technicians. We will pay special attention to mechanical and electrical systems, as these can be very costly to repair once broken.
Oil and water checks
This is something offered to us whenever we top up with fuel, but is an option we seldom take up. It’s important that you keep tabs on both your oil and water, as a lack of either can cause significant damage to your engine. Our Service professionals will ensure that your vehicle is topped up according to the vehicle’s requirements.
Tyre pressure
Correctly inflated tyres are not only a safety requirement but can also improve fuel efficiency by about 4%. It’s also important to bear in mind that, should you be carrying a heavy load, you’ll probably need to pump them up a little bit more than usual. If you’re unsure of the correct inflation pressures, look on the inside of the driver’s door jamb or under the fuel filler flap for a tyre pressure chart. Should you not know exactly where to find the chart, one of our trained Service staff will gladly show you.
Stay Charged
While it’s important not to use your phone while driving, your mobile device can be a lifesaver in the event of an emergency. Not only is it your lifeline to outside assistance, but it can also help you to navigate your way out of unknown or dangerous areas thanks to built-in GPS technology. So make sure to invest in a car charger for those long journeys.
We at CMH Mitsubishi the Glen would like to wish all of our CMH Family a happy festive season and should you need any assistance with your vehicle this holiday season, please do not hesitate to contact any of our Services Advisors, Service Manager or New Vehicle Sales Manager!
The competition between the teams has construed a tangible rivalry as we headed in to this year’s event. In over 22 years it has been one of the most sort after prizes among the contestants for bragging rights as to which industry is better than the next.
7th October saw the cars being delivered to the Steyn City clubhouse which comprised of the Pajero SWB 3.2 Di-D, a branded Pajero Sport launch demo, Titanium Grey, loaned from Mitsubishi HQ, CMH Mitsubishi Westrand branded 2017 Pajero Sport as well as the Triton 4×4 A/T.
It is also the stomping ground for former sportsmen with national colours to prove which codes did their country the most proud. With the new entrants, Comedy Central, it was the perfect opportunity to get the right mix of entertainment going within the ranks with some horrible jokes being told in between as participants based a foundation for camaraderie in the future events to come.
The media team was not the most pleasantly received as they are the ones who have the most critique on former sportsmen in various media platforms, such as print and radio and television.
The host of this year’s event Naas Botha gathered the troops to participate in this surprisingly relaxing afternoon at the exclusive Steyn City golf course, in the north of Johannesburg. Food and drinks were on offer for all those involved at the illustrious clubhouse restaurant and lounge, “Nineteen”. Sublime catering standards to boot and the co-sponsor Johnnie walker offered prizes to the golfers who proved their golfing prowess amongst their competitors.
The teams:
• Rugby- former provincial and Springbok players
• Cricket- former provincial and Protea players
• Media- Television, radio and print influencers
• Comedy Central- Comedians and hosts of Comedy
Central Africa special and vents
• Steyn City- residents and employees of the Steyn Pro shop
The 8th October mid-morning shindig began with the setup of the Pajero SWB, 3.2 Di-D Gls A/T being placed close to the bag drop off. This placement was the first point of the Mitsubishi brand players would see after parking their cars in the basement parking area o when being delivered from their accommodation spaces for the weekend.
The CMH Mitsubishi Westrand branded Pajero Sport was placed closest to the first tee-off spot. The CMH Mitsubishi WESTRAND BRANDED 2017 Triton demo was placed adjacent the putting greens, where golfers would be in full view whilst sharpening their putting skills.
It was an incredible backdrop with Steyn Palazzo being in full-view and creating the ambience for the luxury golf course.
Introductions began with a team briefing by Steyn City’s PR manager, Beryl Payet, who talked the players through the rules of the event. Cameras from both Supersport and Comedy Central were on hand to catch players in interviews and cars were captured for sponsorship purposes as well as a photo of all the participants in a group photo
Due to inclement weather, the tournament scores were totalled to 9 holes. There was a short prize giving ceremony where the players who performed the best and worst we were given some goodies given by the sponsors.

Heritage is a deceptively simple idea. It can be considered to be made up of the practices and traditions that are passed on from parents to children, but it also has to do with what has been passed on from the family, community and place where people have been raised. We are blessed to be living in a country with many colourful cultures, so we decided that we will celebrate Heritage Day at our dealership & what a great day it was.
At CMH Mitsubishi Menlyn, we always aim to keep our clients happy at all times and working as a team, having fun and how better way to do that than having a day where we can all be our true self and sharing it with our colleagues. We used this day to demonstrate our culture by getting dressed up as our forefathers, ancestors and tradition.
Sankie Nyembe won the award for best dressed. She showed off her love for her Zulu culture by wearing her traditional Zulu skirt and beads. In accepting her prize, she gave us a great speech on the Zulu heritage and how her culture is embraced.
Here at CMH Mitsubishi Menlyn we truly believe in our Heritage and Culture.

On the 30th September 2017, CMH Mitsubishi Westrand was given the opportunity to display three of our top four-wheel drive vehicles. St John’s College, one of the premium schools in Johannesburg organised an amazing event which was for their St John’s Academy.
The background of the academy, it was started by teachers who work at the college that saw a need to disrupt the imbalance of inequality for children whom saw academic promise but did not have the financial means to attend a prestigious school. The basis of this educational development programme was to afford children an opportunity and access to a world they may never have had the chance of admission based on the means of their living standards measure.
This incredible display for social responsibility is one that CMH Mitsubishi Westrand saw as an opportunity to get through the door and share in the wealth of the community at large and its stakeholders. This was also a monumental chance to be in the environment where some of Johannesburg’s most affluent families who attend the schools were around to share in the experience of being able to engage with the Mitsubishi and find out that we are a brand that can cater to their motoring needs.
On display we had the Triton 2.4 di-dc 4×4 a/t, which is one of the best double cab bakkies from a mechanical engineering standpoint. It has a fitted canopy and nudge bar, black rims on off-road TOYO tyres. The amazing automatic transmission has incredible torque in both high and low range and is quite the phenomenal vehicle has delightful lightness in the steering control for manoeuvring between obstacles.
The head office branded 2017 Pajero Sport 2.4 Di-D 4 x2 M/T, was one of the more eye-catching vehicles with expressive branding that made it stand out as it is one of the more mid spec vehicles with premium design and stunning good looks in titanium grey.
Customers are able to thus experience the product, making demonstrations a key measure that they factor into their ultimate buying engagement. Establishing the current technological features, from a soft lead’s perspective was an opportunity to educate people on the various offerings that the Mitsubishi brand has to offer.
Great South African PerformancesGoodluck
The fantastic line-up of music was set by the St John’s Jazz band, HIPnotic, SAMA Award-winning band Goodluck and the amazing band Monark with St. John’s Cool choir.
There was an amazing pyrotechnics display that ran for about 15 minutes. This jubilee experience was an awe-inspiring moment filled with the novelty and romance of Shakespearean play. A truly beautiful concerto of classical melodrama and theatre.
The first all-new Mitsubishi Triton in 10 years feels nearly as refined as a good passenger car, and for a ute, it is easy to drive in town. Its diesel engine is modern and easy on fuel, and all Tritons, even the single-cab work trucks, are strong on safety.
The Triton is one of those double-cab bakkies which, despite its solid heritage and reputation, is one of the greatest vehicles you could ever own.
The most fuel-efficient engine in a Triton is the engine that powers most versions, a 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel. It is a very modern design that performs well for its relatively small capacity and feels smooth and refined. This is the best Triton ever. It has its niche – safe, easy to live with around the burbs, reasonable value for money and overall nicely family- friendly for those who are considering changing from a sedan to a ute.
The new Triton has been an exciting addition to our floor. It already had the refined drive with excellent off-road capability and when we thought it couldn’t get any more exciting they upgraded the looks by adding an Extreme kit. The kit gives the vehicle a more aggressive stance and look by adding items all the way from off-road mags and tyres to flared out arches and body kit. It really gives Triton the additional edge on an already amazing Bakkie. It is the perfect bakkie for a customer that wants their vehicle to stand out from the rest. The enhanced look reflects Mitsubishi’s tough and rugged product.
The Extreme kit valued at R60 000 can be ordered on any of the models in the Triton range and the amazing part is that Mitsubishi can do the kit at the normal retail prices. Some of the essential like tonneau cover and styling bar are also included in the kit. The Extreme is definitely one of the best looking bakkies out there and a real head turner. CMH Mitsubishi South has an experienced team ready to take you on an adventure of a lifetime with the Triton when you come through and test drive the vehicle.
The exciting launch of the New Pajero sport in September 2017. We look forward to bringing life to our sporting off-road community. The Pajero Sport launch is well within our midst, we feel it is necessary to showcase one of the new jewels in the Mitsubishi range.
The top of the range 2017 MITSUBISHI Pajero Sport 2.4L MIVEC 4×4 Turbo Diesel Engine has 8 –speed automatic transmission provides fuel efficiency and provides stable driving at high speeds.

Mitsubishi’s popular compact crossover, the Mitsubishi ASX, is getting a refreshed look for the 2017 model year. In addition to the company’s new design language, dubbed Dynamic Shield design, the Mitsubishi ASX range now includes a new 2.0 MIVEC six-speed CVT derivative coming in at under R400 000 and representing unmatched value for money.
Nic Campbell, General Manager of Mitsubishi Motors South Africa, states: “We have to address the current affordability needs of our customers. Today’s economy often forces buyers to opt for lower-spec vehicles, but our new ASX 2.0 GL CVT derivative offers the comfort and efficiency of Mitsubishi’s CVT transmission as well as its impressive standard specification in a truly attractive package. When you consider Mitsubishi’s world-class safety ratings, the new ASX 2.0 GL CVT is easily the best sub R400 000 vehicle on the market.”
A Fresh New Dynamic Shield Design
The new 2017 Mitsubishi ASX, which goes on sale immediately, is the first model in South Africa to feature the company’s new Dynamic Shield design language. The striking new design is centred around a new front grille, which is significantly more prominent than that of its predecessor and will soon be seen on other models, such as the new Mitsubishi Outlander and the much anticipated new Pajero Sport.
Mitsubishi is using the introduction of its new design language to effect other, smaller tweaks, while the popular items and high specification level remain unchanged. Changes to the new ASX include redesigned seat cushions that are fashioned with long-distance passenger comfort as the main priority.
The New Line-Up
The new Mitsubishi ASX line-up consists of five derivatives all featuring the frugal and highly reliable 2.0 MIVEC petrol engine. This engine is equipped with Mitsubishi’s Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control System (MIVEC) and multi-point injection that produces 110 kW at 6 000 rpm and 197 Nm of torque at 4 200 rpm. Power is delivered to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox or CVT transmission with six pre-programmed gear steps.
The 2.0 MIVEC engine is well known for being very fuel efficient, with an average fuel consumption of 7.5 litres / 100 km for the manual models and 7.6 litres for the CVT equipped versions. Fitted with a 63 litre tank, this gives the ASX a range of around 800 km.
Mitsubishi’s popular CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) offers drivers the smooth comfort of an automatic gearbox, but with fuel efficiency similar to a manual vehicle. In short: a CVT transmission is designed to be more sensitive than a standard automatic gearbox and optimises engine output to deliver the best possible fuel consumption under all driving conditions.
The ASX is one of the safest vehicles in its class and boasts a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating. All ASX models feature Mitsubishi’s proprietary Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body shell, no less than seven airbags, ISOFIX child restraint mountings and a range of dynamic safety systems that include ABS, electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and emergency brake assistance (BAS).
In the new 2.0 ASX GL CVT, this means unsurpassed value for a price tag under R400 000.
In addition to the above-mentioned specification, the Mitsubishi GLS derivatives feature LED running lights, electronic active stability and traction control (ASTC) and hill start assist (HSA) as standard.
Luxury features abound in the ASX, including Bluetooth with voice control, cruise control, a multi-function steering wheel, electric windows, air conditioning, rain-sensing wipers, rear park distance control and automatic lights as standard on all models. GLX and GLS derivatives also offer a full-length panoramic glass roof, keyless operation, a full-colour touch-screen infotainment system, heated leather seats in the front, and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, as well as a rear-view camera.
Over and above all these luxuries, two GLS derivatives feature powerful Rockford Fosgate sound systems, whilst the CVT version of the GLS boasts high-impact discharge lights.
The Mitsubishi ASX continues to score highly as a practical crossover, thanks to its 1,193 litres of storage space with the rear seats lowered and its 195mm ground clearance. ASX is sold with a comprehensive 5-year / 90 000 km service plan and 3-year / 100 000 km manufacturer’s warranty.
Campbell concludes: “We are extremely proud of our 92% customer loyalty figure – once people join the Mitsubishi family, they tend to stay. This says more about our brand, our products and our excellent dealer network than we could ever convey in a brochure.”

Team building is a collective term for various types of activities used to enhance social relations and define roles within teams, often involving collaborative tasks. It is distinct from team training, to improve the efficiency, rather than interpersonal relations.
The purpose of Team buildings is to bind the group, so that they get to know each other and begin having a sense of TEAM. It is at this stage that team buildings activities will help bind them and to align them to their shared purpose, goals and targets.
On the 5th November 2016, Mitsubishi Hatfield After Sales Staff with their Managers went to Bounce Menlyn Maine as part of their Team Building. ‘Well, it was the most fun we’ve had in a long time’, said one of the Workshop Staff. One of our drivers further said he didn’t think or realised that trampolining is fun no matter how old you are and that it actually makes you feel younger and proved to themselves how strong they are!
Their Staff were super-friendly, helpful and efficient which added to it being a perfect day out. And to wrap the day up, the Volvo Staff went for lunch and drinks at Oppiplaas Restaurant in Waverly where they dined, chat and got to know each other more and good friendships were made and everyone got to understand the purpose of a Team Building and how important it is for a company.
