The Easter period is usually a time for family, and a time to travel and escape the day-to-day norm. This means long trips in your vehicle to destinations you and your loved ones have discussed and dreamed of for some time. With the country being allowed to visit tourist destinations under the current lockdown restrictions, we thought it was worth showing you some handy features the Pajero Sport has to offer, making your journey that much better.
The Pajero Sport is in high demand at the moment, at CHM Mitsubishi Westrand alone, we have 7 new vehicles on back-order for customers. For the lucky few that managed to get their hands on one, here are few handy features you can use when driving to your holiday destination this Easter.
The Pajero sport has a new 8-inch informative display that has Android Auto and Carplay meaning no more fighting with an AUX cable to play music.
The vehicle also has plenty of cabin space with an option of folding down the back seats to pack away more luggage. You can also utilize the extra seats to carry more people depending on what your travel arrangements are. The Pajero Sport comes with 7 seats as a standard.
Of course, fuel efficacy is important on longer trips and the Pajero Sport is one of the best SUVs on the market with an average of 8.9l/100km. Ziphorah Masethe from the Sunday times reviewed the vehicle by taking it to the Kruger National Park with a heavy load on a single tank of fuel. He even made it half of the way back on the same tank.
The Pajero Sport offers you 7 airbags and ISOFIX. The vehicle also has Park distance control for the tight corners. The vehicle is not small so this will defiantly come in handy. It has also scored an impressive 5-star rating ANCAP for child and adult protection.
The Pajero Sport is one of the best vehicles on the market currently and it was built for long-distance driving. Contact CMH Mitsubishi Westrand for more information.

The Difference Between AWD and 4×4 and the importance of training. Mitsubishi is a versatile vehicle which makes it perfect for any terrain in South Africa. This is the reason why it is important that when buying a 4×4 or AWD Mitsubishi, we send you on a 4×4 Accredited Mitsubishi Off-road training session with your vehicle.
Let us explain the difference between AWD (All Wheel Drive) and 4×4. When your vehicle, like the Mitsubishi Eclipse and Outlander, is an AWD vehicle it directs power to all four wheels. All Wheel Drive describes vehicles that have a four-wheel drive system designed to maximise road traction, for example on slippery roads. It is seen as a safety feature in the vehicle.
A 4×4 vehicle, also called 4×4 (4WD) or 4-by-4, means a system in which a car’s engine powers all 4 wheels evenly. This is the more traditional system that comes to mind when most people think of drivetrains that power all four of a vehicle’s wheels. It is not surprising since the principle goes back almost to the beginning of motor transportation.
The Mitsubishi Eclipse cross range offers customers a stylish- Sporty SUV but not limited only to town driving. This stylish beast comes with an All-wheel Drive capability which allows for the vehicle to be driven on off road terrain offering you both a smooth city drive and 4×4 driver experience. This feature is just a plus to the vehicle.
The Eclipse Cross inspires complete confidence in challenging environments. Whether navigating winding roads or snowy conditions, the Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) # system supplies optimal torque to the wheels for enhanced vehicle dynamics. S-AWC integrates Mitsubishi’s proprietary Active Yaw Control (AYC), which uses braking to optimally distribute torque to the left and right wheels. You can select the NORMAL, SNOW or GRAVEL drive mode depending on road conditions to enhance turning accuracy, straight-line stability, and manoeuvrability on slippery roads. An indicator in the multi-information display instrument panel always keeps you informed of S-AWC status.
Eclipse Cross is available with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that provides smooth, powerful acceleration and outstanding fuel efficiency. For hands on control, 8-speed Sports Mode creates the satisfying sensation of shifting gears. Paddle shifters are mounted within easy reach to allow you to enjoy Sports Mode while keeping both hands safely on the wheel. Shifting is quick and easy, with the current gear position clearly shown on the multi-information display.
The Mitsubishi 4×4 training academy usually involves learning to drive across various types of obstacles. Make sure you spend as much time as you can in each driving scenario, learning how your 4×4 or AWD feels and how it responds at any given time depending on the surface you are on.

It is no secret that given recent global events people are a bit tired of not being able to be active and get outdoors. One of Mitsubishi 3 Corporate principles is corporate responsibility to society. The broad definition of this principle is to strive to enrich society, both materially and spiritually, while contributing towards the preservation of the global environment.
This presented a unique opportunity for CMH Mitsubishi Westrand to not only promote the business but also fulfil this responsibility by sponsoring an annual event at Randpark Club called the Festival of Golf. 2020 marked Randpark Clubs 80th birthday, which made this event all the more prestigious. With over 2300 attendees expected, it was also presented an opportunity to display some of Mitsubishi’s best vehicles on offer currently.
The Mitsubishi Triton
It was originally known as the Mitsubishi Fortein Japan from 1978 to 1986 when the name was discontinued as the pickup was not sold in its home market for a while. In export markets the name L200 is used though it is also known as the Rodeo, Colt, Storm, Magnum, L200 Strakar. The Triton achieved great success locally, and we saw it fitting to display this vehicle at the festival given its rich history.
The Eclipse Cross
While the Eclipse Cross may be a newcomer in the range of Mitsubishi’s, it is definitely a favourite in the market. Introduced at the 87th Geneva Motor Show, this vehicle is one of Mitsubishi’s offers in the highly contested SUV/Crossover market. The Eclipse Cross won RCJ Car of the year in 2109, a competition run by the Automotive Researchers & Journalists Conference of Japan. Mitsubishi has also sponsored prizes for the event, which have been given out to all the top performing players at the festival. We encourage everyone to join us this weekend to view The Triton and The Eclipse Cross and participate in the event.
